Based on my experience at Carlucci in Chicago (which I arbitrarily assigned a "10"), I've started rating Tiramisu whenever I find it on a restaurant's menu. Here's the system that I use to rate each restaurant's Tiramisu:: Perfection. Indescribable. Heaven in the mouth. Brings tears to your eyes.
9: As close to perfection as one can get. Near-Nirvana. But not quite a "10."
8: Very, very good, and easy to say nice things about.
7: Very good. One can honestly recommend this to a friend.
6: A good average dessert that just makes it into the top tier.
5: Kind of what you'd expect at, say, a coffee shop.
4: Needs lots of improvement.
3: Needs a helluva lot of improvement.
2: Terrible, but one could at least eat half of it.
1: (Rude and disgusting sounds emanating from the diner) Totally barfable.
