Ah, Mascarpone Cheese, it’s wonderful but sometimes hard to find and usually expensive. I live in an Italian neighborhood and, a while back, I did a bit a research to find my own substitutions. Here is an option that matches pretty well to traditional mascarpone cheese. Check my other recipe for a version that contains less fat content.
  • 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons of sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons of heavy cream (liquid, not whipped) – 35% whipping cream
  1. Combine all ingredients.
  2. Use as a substitute for mascarpone cheese when making Tiramisu or for any recipe requiring mascarpone cheese.
