Erin Josefchak’s Mascarpone Substitution Recipe 2
Recipe Type: Mascarpone Cheese Substitute
Ah, Mascarpone Cheese, it’s wonderful but sometimes hard to find and usually expensive. I live in an Italian neighborhood and, a while back, I did a bit a research to find my own substitutions. Here is an option that matches pretty well to traditional mascarpone cheese. Check my other recipe for a version that contains less fat content.
- 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons of sour cream
- 2 tablespoons of heavy cream (liquid, not whipped) – 35% whipping cream
- Combine all ingredients.
- Use as a substitute for mascarpone cheese when making Tiramisu or for any recipe requiring mascarpone cheese.
