This recipe apparently accompanied small bottles of Godiva Liqueur. We
found it on a Rutgers University dessert recipes page. You will need souffle
dishes. It was submitted to that site by a "David G." Makes 4 to 5 servings.
- GODIVA LIQUEUR, 5 ounces divided (3+2)
- ESPRESSO OR STRONG BLACK COFFEE, 1/2 cup
LADYFINGERS, 16 to 20
MASCARPONE, 1 pound
- EGGS, 2, separated
- CONFECTIONER'S SUGAR, 1/3 cup
- DARK CHOCOLATE, 3 to 4 ounces, grated
Combine 3 egg yolks, 1 tablespoon Espresso, sugar, and Cognac into the large
to 3 minutes
Mascarpone and beat 3 to 5 minutes until consistency is smooth
another bowl, combine 3 egg whites and a pinch of sugar. Beat until mixture
forms stiff peaks
fold into Mascarpone mixture
rest of Espresso into flat dish, dip one side of each Lady Finger, and layer
on bottom of serving dish
1/3 of Mascarpone mixture and sprinkle with cocoa
Continue layering and finish with a Mascarpone layer
Sprinkle and refrigerate 1 hour before serving
